Bongaree Jetty

The seaside experience on Bribie Island isn’t complete without a visit to Bongaree Jetty, where you can enjoy the calm waters, a group picnic, and waterfront views.

Bongaree Jetty is located a short drive from the Bribie Bridge, and is set amid the grassy lawns and sealed pathways of Brennan Park.

This is a place to keep the whole family entertained, with accessible amenities all on hand. There is a playground adjacent to the restaurants and takeaway stores, complete with a looped flying fox and colourful play equipment.

The Jetty structure itself stretches out over the water, and is made of wooden slats with side railings. It offers a sturdy, yet slightly uneven surface for wheelchairs and walkers.

Views can be enjoyed from both a seating and standing position. The jetty and connecting pathways also allow enough space to manoeuvre mobility devices, and sightsee at your own pace.

Recreational activities: swimming, fishing and more

On either side of Bongaree Jetty are narrow, sandy beaches which are accessible from the concrete pathways. The soft sand leads to the shallow waters of Bongaree Beach, ideal for supervised paddling. You can also try your luck at fishing, or watch the various water sports from the pathways or grassed banks.

It is all about choice at Bongaree Jetty. There are quieter activities for varying abilities (sightseeing, walking, picnics), as well as more active play options (swimming, fishing, playground fun).

Central location, easy access

Parking is available along Welsby Parade; near Scoopy’s Family Café; and another carpark area can be accessed from First Avenue. There is also parking up towards the boat ramp, and near the museum. Accessible spots are readily available, leading onto sealed pathways and signed pedestrian crossings for easy and safe navigation.
