Captain Cook Parade Park

Tucked away in a shady spot off the main road and right on the waterfront, Captain Cook Parade Park offers a quiet retreat from the everyday.

This spacious picnic site has plenty of parking, accessible pathways, picnic and seating facilities, and views to Bribie Island and beyond.

There are large shelters to enjoy a picnic lunch, as well as BBQs if you want to cook up some sausages for a birthday party or group event.

With grassy lawns, clear pathways and seating at varying heights, there is ample room for wheelchairs and walkers. There is additional sandstone block seating along the lush garden beds, space to roll out a picnic blanket, and sizeable concrete areas.

Four-legged fun: off-leash dog beach

Support dogs and companion animals are made to feel welcome with ramp access to an off-leash dog beach. There is space for dogs to run and play on the soft sand and splash in the shallows. Dog waste disposal bags and rubbish bins are also readily available, so you can clean up after your pet.

Location, location, location

Captain Cook Parade Park is conveniently located off a main road, without the noise and traffic. Park in the large, off-road carpark and make your way to the peaceful picnic grounds. Accessible toilets are available across the road at Apex Park, which has additional picnic areas and a playground with equipment. Please use caution when crossing the road.

Don’t forget to pack your sunscreen, hat and water bottle as you enjoy the sights and sounds alongside the Foreshore Accessible Pathway. The natural habitat includes mangroves, calm water, sand, and local wildlife – a perfect spot for bird watching and getting out and about in the great outdoors.
