It’s no surprise that Scarborough Beach is a former winner of Queensland’s Friendliest Beach.
Travel at your own pace as you explore the safe swimming beach, and discover lush parkland via a series of accessible walkways with wooden viewing decks and ramps.
The convenient location and accessible facilities make Scarborough Beach Park a must-do visit on your next trip to the Moreton Bay Region.
Family-friendly fun, and a touch of magic
The family-friendly Scarborough Beach Park is fully fenced and has two playgrounds with themed equipment: Railway Place and Pirate Place.
A stationary train and track run throughout the play space together with a climbing net, swings and balancing equipment.
There is also a jumping pillow for the more adventurous, and the mysterious Gollum Tree – a pine tree with a carved doorway for those with an interest in fairytales and magic.
Quieter trails and a place to picnic
Along with its high-energy attractions, there are quieter trails and options available for those who prefer to relax and unwind away from the crowds. Find a shady spot under a tree, or soak up the tranquillity near the water.
Adjacent to the Scarborough playgrounds are several ample-sized shelter sheds with fixed seats, picnic tables, and electric barbecues – perfect for birthdays and get-togethers.
The area is in close proximity to a spacious Scarborough car park, accessible toilets with a wheelchair ramp, and water fountains.
Local bites and shopping with a view
If you’re not up for a do-it-yourself lunch at the park, stroll across to Scarborough Esplanade to browse cafés, shops and wine bars. Safe, marked crossings are available. Please use caution when crossing the main road.
Getting here
Transport and parking are made easy with a large, off-road carpark. There are designated accessible bays and clear directional signage to the park’s various areas and amenities.
Scarborough Beach Park is also located along the foreshore accessible pathway, so you can extend your stay by visiting nearby parks and attractions. Travelling south you will find Queens Beach North and Queens Beach, and Redcliffe.
