If you are looking for a safe and accessible place to swim with clear water and plenty of shade, Settlement Cove is the perfect day trip for locals and visitors.
Located in front of Redcliffe Parade, this 95-metre, man-made lagoon is set amid palm trees and gardens with multiple recreational areas for varying abilities. It is a flexible space with plenty of amenities and activities to make your stay as comfortable and inclusive as possible.
There is a partly fenced wading area for younger children with mushroom fountains, bugs that spray water, and fibreglass rocks. As you go further into the lagoon, it gets progressively deeper for the more confident swimmers.
Wet and wild - pool wheelchair and accessible ramp
A pool wheelchair is available for use during lifeguard patrolled hours. This can be used on the wheelchair-accessible ramp, which enters the lagoon near the accessible toilet block.
Spectators can watch on from the grassy hills, pathways and rocky surrounds. Surfaces include concrete, pavers, bridges, artificial grass, and softfall rubber matting. This provides a stable and continuous surface for wheelchairs and walkers around the entire lagoon.
Easy access parking
Parking is available along Redcliffe and Marine Parade, with access to the lagoon via a wheelchair-friendly ramp. There is also a large carpark with accessible parking located off the roundabout at Redcliffe Parade and Anzac Avenue. Walk past the basketball court (on your left) from the carpark and you will reach the entrance to Settlement Cove Lagoon.
Nearby venues/Food & drink:
There are plenty of dining options in the main hub of Redcliffe along Redcliffe Parade. Get a cold treat at The Big Kid Ice-Creamery; your caffeine fix at Zarraffa’s or The Coffee Club; or something more substantial at The Rustic Olive Italian Kitchen, Café Diversity, Hog’s Breath, or Flock Eatery.

NOTE: Some of the parks, grassed areas, and beaches along the Redcliffe Peninsula Foreshore are used as venues for local events and festivals throughout the year. This includes the Festival of Sails, Christmas Carols, and Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival. Please take note of the Moreton Bay Region Calendar of Events when planning your trip, as it may affect carpark availability, pedestrian traffic, and increase noise levels for those sensitive to sound and/or crowds.
