Suttons Beach

Sunshine, fresh sea air, and plenty of room to move and play.

Suttons Beach is a popular weekend destination with ample grass areas for picnics, multiple playgrounds, clear signage, scenic pathways, BBQs, and accessible pathway and toilet facilities.

Accessible beach mats are installed near the Suttons Beach Rotunda, which provide an accessible and stable pathway over the sand. They have been shown to improve access onto the beach for

  • People using mobility devices (e.g., wheelchairs, walking frames etc.)
  • People with chronic health conditions (e.g., arthritis)
  • Families pushing prams or carts

Please note that while the beach mats are available 24/7 and are maintained on a regular basis, they may have sand on top of them due to strong winds or weather events. The mats may also be removed because of adverse coastal conditions.

There is an accessible pathway and bike path running along the coastline of the peninsula, which is a fantastic way to take in the beauty of this piece of paradise. This smooth, shared path is suitable for wheelchairs and walkers.
