Bongaree Foreshore, Bribie Island

Want to explore Bribie Island and the Pumicestone Passage? An accessible pathway extends along the foreshore from Renton Lane to the Bribie Island Bridge, stopping at Bongaree Jetty.

Grab some fish and chips for lunch, and meet up with friends in one of the many shaded parks with plenty of seating and waterfront views.

Start at Renton Lane, located at the southern end of South Esplanade, Bongaree. There is a small carpark alongside the water, which marks the start of the wheelchair-friendly pathway.

Bongaree Foreshore Accessible Pathway – suggested route

NOTE: The suggested route below commences at Renton Lane, but the concrete foreshore pathway can be accessed from a number of parks and rest stops. You can start and end your journey wherever you like.

Start at Renton Lane, located at the southern end of South Esplanade, Bongaree. There is a small carpark alongside the water, which marks the start of the wheelchair-friendly pathway.

A short distance north along the waterfront at South Esplanade is Gary Parsons Park. This small park offers seating as well as fitness equipment.

Bench seats, rubbish bins and water fountains are dotted along Bongaree Foreshore for your comfort. Take in the fresh air and enjoy the sights and sounds – you are on island time, after all.

Continue travelling north, where South Esplanade turns to Toorbul Street at the Bribie Island Seaside Museum junction. The path then crosses through Brennan Park and the vibrant Bongaree Jetty precinct.

Along the sealed pathway adjacent to Welsby Parade you will enter the Chamber of Commerce Park, opposite the Bribie Island Bowls Club.

The last stop before the Bribie Bridge is Pumicestone Lions Park. This is a great picnic spot to finish your day, with lots of amenities, grassy lawns and viewing spots across to the mainland.

  • Brennan Park

    Brennan Park is a large, shady venue with something to keep everyone entertained. It has amazing water views and accessible amenities all on hand. There is a playground adjacent to restaurants and takeaway stores, complete with a looped flying fox and colourful play equipment

    The seaside experience on Bribie Island isn’t complete without a visit to Bongaree Jetty, where you can enjoy the calm waters, a group picnic, and waterfront views.

  • Chamber of Commerce Park, Bongaree

    Located opposite the Bribie Island Bowls Club and with stunning views of the Pumicestone Passage is Chamber of Commerce Park, Bongaree.

  • Pumicestone Lions Park

    The last stop before the Bribie Bridge when heading north along the Bongaree Foreshore is Pumicestone Lions Park. This is a great picnic spot to finish your day, with plenty of amenities for your comfort and viewing spots across to the mainland.
